A “syndemic” is a synergistic epidemic, and on today’s program we hear about the problematic combination of climate change, obesity, and undernourishment—and some solutions that address all three at once. Ross Hammond is distinguished associate professor public health and social policy at Washington University in St. Louis, senior fellow in Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution, where he is director of the Center on Social Dynamics and Policy, and he’s external faculty member at the Santa Fe Institute.
