Tess Light is a physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In fact she’s the chief scientist for the Space-based Nuclear Detonation Detection program at Los Alamos and leads the Radiofrequency On-orbit Operations team. All of which means, first of all, that she knows more about lightning than you ever thought there was to know, and second, she uses this knowledge, to detect nuclear activity and monitor compliance with nuclear treaties around the globe.
