Caught in a sudden snowstorm, Timothy P. McLaughlin found himself at the bottom of a New Mexico canyon in January with the sun about to set. He called on all his inner resources and turned what could have been a tragedy into a ceremony of initiation and survival. Drawing on this experience, he wrote his latest collection of poetry, Seeds Under the Tongue. Rooted in wild lands and contemplating deeply our place in wild and modern worlds, his work is beautiful, relevant, and masterfully crafted. We talk about his journey as a person and a poet, his non-profit Praising Earth, and his upcoming performance at the Scottish Rite Center in Santa Fe on Sunday, July 21, at 4pm.
